Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 (12 ounce) can or bottle of beer, at room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and sugar.
- Pour the room temperature beer into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix. The batter will be thick.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Using room temperature beer helps the bread rise better.
- Any type of beer can be used, but lighter beers will result in a milder flavor.
- For a richer crust, you can brush the top with melted butter after removing it from the oven.
