- 1 prepared pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping or homemade whipped cream
- Optional: 1/4 cup sugar (for berries)
Instructions
- If desired, gently toss sliced strawberries and blueberries with sugar in separate bowls and let sit for 15-20 minutes to release juices.
- In a large trifle dish or clear bowl, layer half of the pound cake cubes.
- Spoon half of the strawberries over the cake layer.
- Spoon half of the blueberries over the strawberry layer.
- Spread half of the whipped topping over the berry layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped topping.
- Cover and chill for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- You can use angel food cake instead of pound cake.
- For extra flavor, drizzle a little lemon juice over the berries before layering.
