Description

Make individual servings of classic 7-layer taco dip in cups for easy serving at parties or for meal prepping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup sour cream mixed with 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa, drained
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 7 small clear plastic cups or jars (about 8-10 oz size)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sour cream mixture by stirring the taco seasoning into the sour cream until combined.
  2. Drain the salsa well to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  3. Begin layering in each cup, starting with the refried beans, filling each cup about one-seventh full.
  4. Gently spoon the guacamole layer on top of the beans in each cup.
  5. Add the seasoned sour cream mixture as the third layer in each cup.
  6. Spoon the drained salsa over the sour cream layer.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the salsa layer in all cups.
  8. Top the cheese with a small amount of sliced black olives in each cup.
  9. Finish each individual dip with a sprinkle of diced tomatoes.
  10. Chill the cups for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For the best presentation, use a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to pipe the sour cream and guacamole layers neatly.
  • You can prepare the layers up to 24 hours ahead, but add the toppings (olives and tomatoes) just before serving.
  • If you do not have guacamole, you can substitute a layer of cream cheese mixed with a little lime juice.
