Description
Cook moist and flaky cod fillets quickly using your air fryer with simple lemon and herb seasoning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (6 ounce) cod fillets, fresh or thawed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 lemon, sliced thinly
Instructions
- Pat the cod fillets completely dry using paper towels. This helps seasoning adhere and promotes better texture.
- Brush both sides of the cod fillets lightly with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the fillets.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Place the seasoned cod fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overlap them. Place one or two thin lemon slices on top of each fillet if desired.
- Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes. The exact time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
- Check for doneness: the fish should flake easily with a fork and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove carefully from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
- If your fillets have skin, place them skin-side down first. This can help keep the flesh intact.
- For thicker fillets (over 1 inch), you may need to increase the cooking time by 1 to 2 minutes.
- Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain air circulation.
