Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound cod or tilapia fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional, for creamy slaw)
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Brush this mixture evenly over both sides of the fish fillets.
- Place the fish in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
- While the fish cooks, prepare the slaw: In a medium bowl, combine shredded cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, and mayonnaise (if using). Toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Warm the tortillas in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes, or in a dry skillet.
- Flake the cooked fish into bite-sized pieces.
- Assemble your tacos: Fill each tortilla with flaked fish and top with the prepared slaw. Add hot sauce if desired.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your fish fillets.
- For a spicier slaw, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to add other toppings like avocado, salsa, or a drizzle of crema.
