Description

Make fall-inspired pork chops with an apple cider glaze. This skillet recipe features seared chops cooked in a sweet and tangy apple cider and Dijon mustard glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove chops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add apple cider, Dijon mustard, butter, and thyme to the skillet.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Return pork chops to the skillet. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Increase heat to medium-high and continue to simmer the glaze until it thickens slightly.
  9. Spoon the thickened glaze over the pork chops and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your pork chops.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or a bay leaf to the glaze.
