Description

Enjoy warm, comforting Apple Cinnamon Rolls, perfect for a cozy fall treat. These easy-to-make rolls are filled with sweet apples and fragrant cinnamon, bringing a taste of home to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (105-115°F)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup finely chopped apples (about 1 medium apple)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in the activated yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. While dough rises, prepare the filling. In a small bowl, mix chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Punch down the risen dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 12×9-inch rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle the apple-cinnamon mixture over the butter.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long side. Pinch the seam to seal.
  9. Cut the roll into 12 equal slices.
  10. Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan, cut-side up. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. While rolls bake, prepare the glaze. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  14. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Use a medium apple, such as Fuji or Honeycrisp, for best flavor.
  • Ensure your milk and water are warm (not hot) to activate the yeast properly.
  • Don’t over-flour the dough; it should be slightly sticky.
  • Adjust baking time based on your oven.
