Description

Make your own healthy and satisfying Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips at home. Thinly sliced apples are baked until crisp with a sweet cinnamon coating, offering a wholesome alternative to traditional snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and core the apples. Using a mandoline or a very sharp knife, slice the apples as thinly as possible (about 1/16 inch thick).
  3. In a medium bowl, gently toss the apple slices with cinnamon and sugar (if using) until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, making sure they do not overlap.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, then flip the apple slices. Continue baking for another 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the chips are dry and crisp. The baking time will vary depending on the thickness of your slices and your oven.
  6. Turn off the oven and leave the apple chips inside for another 30 minutes to cool and crisp further.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before storing.

Notes

  • For best results, use firm, crisp apples like Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp. Softer apples may become chewy rather than crisp.
  • Slice the apples as uniformly thin as possible to ensure even baking and crispness.
  • Store cooled apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-5 days. They tend to soften over time, so enjoy them fresh.
