Description

Make these Baked Cranberry Meatballs for your next gathering. They are simple to prepare and feature a sweet and tangy cranberry sauce perfect for parties. You will love how easy they are.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (12 ounce) can of whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the meat mixture into small, uniform meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a small saucepan, whisk together the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is smooth. Do not boil.
  5. Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Serve hot with toothpicks for easy grabbing.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of ground cloves to the meatball mixture.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer for an extra 5 minutes before pouring over the meatballs.
  • These freeze well. Cook them completely, cool, then freeze in an airtight container. Thaw and reheat gently in the oven.
