Description
Make flaky, savory ham and cheese croissants quickly using pre-made dough. This recipe delivers gooey melted cheese and buttery pastry perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a simple lunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 6 slices thinly sliced deli ham
- 6 slices Swiss or Gruyère cheese
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into 8 triangles.
- If using mustard, mix the Dijon mustard with the melted butter. Brush this mixture lightly over the surface of each dough triangle.
- Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto the wide end of each dough triangle.
- Roll each triangle up tightly, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip. Place the rolled croissants seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use Gruyère cheese instead of standard Swiss.
- To make this a casserole bake for a crowd, place the rolled croissants close together in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, pour 1 cup of milk mixed with 1 egg over the top before baking, and increase the bake time to 25-30 minutes.
- Brush the tops with a little extra melted butter halfway through baking for extra buttery flakiness.
