Description

Bake these simple Turkey Meatballs with Marinara for a satisfying, protein-packed dinner that tastes like a labor of love, even on a busy night. Clara Kohn shares this recipe from the 911Recipes family kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into uniform 1-inch balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned.
  5. While the meatballs bake, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the olive oil.
  6. Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them carefully to the saucepan with the warm marinara sauce.
  7. Stir gently to coat all the meatballs with the sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  8. Serve hot over pasta, zucchini noodles, or enjoy them on their own.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh parsley to the meatball mixture.
  • If your meatballs brown too quickly before they are cooked through, you can carefully transfer them to the sauce sooner.
  • This recipe freezes well. Store leftover meatballs and sauce in an airtight container.
