Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Gently wipe the portobello mushrooms clean with a damp cloth. Remove the stems.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce or tamari, minced garlic, and Italian herbs.
- Place the mushroom caps in the marinade, gill-side down, and let them marinate for at least 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Preheat your grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the marinated mushrooms on the grill, gill-side down first. Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

- If using a grill pan indoors, ensure good ventilation.
- These grilled mushrooms are great served as a main course, on a bun like a burger, or sliced and added to salads or pasta.
