Description

A straightforward recipe for baking bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs until crispy and juicy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps the skin crisp up.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Rub the oil and spice mixture evenly over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat the skin well.
  5. Place the chicken thighs skin-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius) and the skin is golden brown and crisp.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, you can place the chicken under the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • You can substitute other dried herbs like dried thyme or rosemary with the paprika.
