Description

A bright and refreshing cocktail combining fresh blueberries, lemonade, and sparkling wine, perfect for your next brunch gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup vodka or gin (optional)
  • 1 bottle (750ml) chilled Prosecco or dry sparkling wine
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Extra blueberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the fresh blueberries in a sturdy pitcher. Muddle the berries gently to release their juices.
  2. Add the lemon juice, simple syrup, and vodka or gin (if using) to the pitcher. Stir well to combine the blueberry mixture.
  3. Chill the base mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Just before serving, slowly pour the chilled Prosecco into the pitcher. Stir very gently once or twice to incorporate without losing carbonation.
  5. Pour the cocktail into champagne flutes or wine glasses. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a few fresh blueberries.

Notes

  • To make a large batch ahead of time, prepare the blueberry-lemon-syrup-spirit mixture and store it covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Do not add the sparkling wine until immediately before serving.
  • Adjust the simple syrup amount based on the tartness of your lemonade or lemon juice. Taste the base mixture before adding the sparkling wine.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the Prosecco with sparkling white grape juice or sparkling lemonade.
