Description
Make tender, shredded buffalo chicken using your slow cooker. This recipe is simple and perfect for meal prep, sandwiches, or dips.

- 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10 oz) bottle of your favorite buffalo wing sauce
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing
- 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Pour the buffalo wing sauce, ranch or blue cheese dressing, garlic powder, and onion powder over the chicken.
- Distribute the pieces of butter evenly over the top of the chicken and sauce mixture.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shredded.
- Remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and place them in a large bowl.
- Use two forks to shred the chicken completely.
- Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir well to coat it thoroughly with the sauce.
- Let the chicken sit on the warm setting for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
- Use this shredded chicken for tacos, lettuce wraps, or topping a baked potato.
- If you prefer more heat, add a dash of cayenne pepper before cooking.
