Description
Make amazing Cajun Salmon Tacos with a fresh, crunchy slaw. This recipe brings bold, spicy flavor that tastes like you spent all day cooking, but it comes together fast. It’s a perfect, easy meal for any busy day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning blend
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 bag coleslaw mix (about 4 cups)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel. Rub the Cajun seasoning evenly over both sides of the salmon.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon in the hot skillet.
- Cook the salmon for 4 to 6 minutes per side, until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
- While the salmon cooks, prepare the slaw. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime juice, and honey.
- Add the coleslaw mix to the dressing and toss until everything is lightly coated. Season the slaw with salt and pepper.
- Once the salmon is cooked, use two forks to flake it into bite-sized pieces right in the pan.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
- Assemble the tacos: Divide the flaked Cajun salmon among the warm tortillas. Top each taco generously with the fresh slaw. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use store-bought Cajun seasoning for speed.
- For extra heat, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the slaw dressing.
- If you prefer, you can bake the salmon at 400°F for 12-15 minutes instead of pan-searing.
- This recipe is great when you need a delicious meal that feels like home, even on crazy days.
