Enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of apple pie in a simple bar form. These easy one-pan Caramel Apple Pie Bars are perfect for a quick fall dessert that tastes like home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples (about 4 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, drizzle with additional caramel sauce before cutting into bars.

Notes
