Description
Make the traditional, buttery, and savory Chex Party Mix. This recipe is simple to prepare and makes a large batch perfect for parties or game days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 cups Chex cereal (mixture of Rice, Corn, and Wheat recommended)
- 1 cup pretzel twists
- 1 cup bagel chips
- 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, or mixed)
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a very large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, bagel chips, and nuts. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Remove the melted butter from the heat. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture. Gently stir until all the cereal pieces are lightly coated.
- Spread the coated mixture onto two large, rimmed baking sheets. Do not overlap the mix too much.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and stir the mix on the sheets.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheets before serving or storing. The mix will crisp up as it cools.
Notes
- You can substitute any combination of Chex cereals you prefer for the 12 cups total.
- For a spicier mix, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
- Store cooled mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
