Description

Make the traditional, buttery, and savory Chex Party Mix. This recipe is simple to prepare and makes a large batch perfect for parties or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups Chex cereal (mixture of Rice, Corn, and Wheat recommended)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists
  • 1 cup bagel chips
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, or mixed)
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a very large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, bagel chips, and nuts. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  4. Remove the melted butter from the heat. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture. Gently stir until all the cereal pieces are lightly coated.
  6. Spread the coated mixture onto two large, rimmed baking sheets. Do not overlap the mix too much.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and stir the mix on the sheets.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheets before serving or storing. The mix will crisp up as it cools.

Notes

  • You can substitute any combination of Chex cereals you prefer for the 12 cups total.
  • For a spicier mix, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
  • Store cooled mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
