Description

You can make the famous sweet and creamy Grape Salad from Chicken Salad Chick right in your own kitchen! This easy copycat recipe combines juicy grapes with a rich dressing made from cream cheese and sour cream, topped with crunchy pecans and brown sugar. It is a perfect, refreshing side dish for potlucks or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds seedless grapes (a mix of red and green works best)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the grapes. Gently fold the dressing into the grapes until all the grapes are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the grape mixture into a serving dish.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the salad.
  7. Cover the dish and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For the best texture, make sure your cream cheese is fully softened before mixing the dressing.
  • You can prepare this salad up to 24 hours ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • If you want a lighter version, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • This salad is excellent served chilled as a sweet side dish or a light dessert.
