Description

Learn how to make delicious chocolate-dipped strawberries, a simple and sweet treat perfect for romantic occasions or parties. This easy recipe uses minimal ingredients and steps for a delightful homemade dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening or coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Wash strawberries gently and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Ensure they are thoroughly dry to help the chocolate adhere.
  2. Place chocolate chips and shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem or leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the way up.
  5. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  6. Place the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
  7. If desired, you can drizzle extra melted chocolate over the dipped strawberries for decoration.
  8. Chill the strawberries in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • Use good quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • For a glossy finish, add a teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate before melting.
  • If you don’t have a microwave, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
  • Store dipped strawberries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
