Description

This Cinnamon Roll Apple Bake is a delightful fall dessert mashup. It combines the gooey sweetness of cinnamon rolls with the warm, spiced flavor of apple pie. It’s easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a small baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the diced apple with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the apple mixture and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are slightly softened. Stir in the pecans, if using.
  4. Separate the cinnamon rolls and place them in the prepared baking dish, slightly apart.
  5. Pour the cooked apple mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and flour. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples and cinnamon rolls.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Drizzle with the included cinnamon roll frosting before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can use any type of apple you prefer. Granny Smith apples will give a tarter flavor, while Fuji or Honeycrisp will be sweeter.
  • For an extra rich flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the apple mixture.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
