Description

Make delicious cinnamon sugar churros in your skillet in just 10 minutes. This easy recipe brings a taste of homemade sweetness to your table with minimal fuss. Perfect for a quick treat when you crave something delightful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, 1/4 cup butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until butter melts and mixture simmers.
  2. Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Return to low heat and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute to dry out the dough.
  4. Transfer dough to a bowl. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated and smooth.
  5. Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  6. Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, or use two spoons to shape the dough into churro shapes about 4-5 inches long. Carefully drop churros into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.
  7. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. In a shallow dish, combine 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar.
  10. Brush the warm churros with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the churros for optimal crispiness.
  • You can adjust the cinnamon sugar coating to your preference.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
