Make quick and easy classic sloppy joes sandwiches.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and garlic powder.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto hamburger buns.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables like celery or mushrooms.
- Adjust the brown sugar and mustard to your preference.
- Serve with your favorite sides like chips or coleslaw.
