Description
Tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs made easy in your slow cooker, finished with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2-3 pounds pork spareribs or baby back ribs, cut into 3-4 rib sections
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup beef broth or water
- 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the rib sections.
- Place the ribs vertically in the slow cooker, arranging them around the sides if necessary.
- Pour the beef broth or water into the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are very tender.
- Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Brush the ribs generously with your favorite BBQ sauce.
- Broil the ribs for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use any type of pork ribs you prefer. Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the ribs.
- For extra flavor, you can brown the ribs in a skillet before adding them to the slow cooker.
- Adjust the amount of spice rub to your taste.
- If you don’t have a broiler, you can finish the ribs on a grill or bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes after adding the BBQ sauce.
