This classic tuna pasta salad combines tender pasta, flaky tuna, creamy mayonnaise, and crisp vegetables for a refreshing and satisfying dish. It’s perfect as a chilled side or a light meal.

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni or small shell pasta
- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta, drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, and thawed peas.
- Add fresh lemon juice and mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of dried dill or a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the dressing.
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for some of the mayonnaise for a lighter version.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like diced bell peppers or shredded carrots.
