Description

Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This simple crockpot steak recipe uses garlic butter for maximum flavor and is perfect for a weeknight dinner over mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the steak evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss lightly to coat.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the steak.
  4. Scatter the pieces of butter over the top of the steak.
  5. Add the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker. Do not stir.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is very tender.
  7. Once cooked, stir everything together gently to create a simple sauce coating the steak bites.
  8. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the steak after cooking and set aside. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water, then stir this slurry into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast or skirt steak if you prefer a heartier texture.
