Description
Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This simple crockpot steak recipe uses garlic butter for maximum flavor and is perfect for a weeknight dinner over mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the steak evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss lightly to coat.
- Pour the beef broth over the steak.
- Scatter the pieces of butter over the top of the steak.
- Add the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker. Do not stir.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is very tender.
- Once cooked, stir everything together gently to create a simple sauce coating the steak bites.
- Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the steak after cooking and set aside. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water, then stir this slurry into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
- This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast or skirt steak if you prefer a heartier texture.
