Description
Make crispy, savory ranch-flavored cucumber chips using an air fryer for a low-carb snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large cucumbers
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Wash and thinly slice the cucumbers into uniform rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Pat the cucumber slices completely dry using paper towels. This step is critical for achieving crunch.
- In a medium bowl, toss the dry cucumber slices with olive oil until lightly coated.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and salt over the oiled slices. Toss gently to distribute the seasoning evenly.
- Arrange the seasoned cucumber slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap them. You will need to work in batches.
- Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Check frequently after 15 minutes.
- The chips are done when they feel firm and are visibly crispy. They will crisp up more as they cool.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispness, you can lightly sprinkle the slices with a small amount of cornstarch before oiling.
- If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these on a rack set over a baking sheet at 225°F (107°C) for 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping halfway.
- Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
