Description

Prepare moist, flaky salmon with a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze using this simple baking method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, dried ginger, and black pepper to make the glaze.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spoon or brush half of the honey garlic glaze evenly over the top of the salmon fillets.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the cooked salmon.
  7. Garnish with fresh lemon slices before serving.

Notes

  • For extra caramelization, switch the oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer the glaze mixture on the stovetop for 2 minutes before brushing it on the salmon.
  • You can substitute brown sugar for a portion of the honey for a deeper flavor profile.
