Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground pork or turkey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground pork or turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the coleslaw mix to the skillet and stir well to combine with the meat and aromatics.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using).
- Pour the sauce over the mixture in the skillet and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender-crisp.
- Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Adjust sriracha to your preferred spice level.
- For a vegetarian option, use crumbled firm tofu or tempeh instead of meat.
- Serve as is, or over cauliflower rice for a heartier meal.
