Description
Make this hearty, loaded, cheesy bread stuffed with ground beef, bacon, and multiple cheeses. It is an easy, crowd-pleasing dish perfect for parties or a satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf Italian or French bread (about 12 inches long)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise, creating two halves. Do not cut all the way through; leave one long side attached to form a hinge.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir the garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the meat mixture. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked meat mixture, crumbled bacon, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and sour cream. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
- Spread the cheese and meat filling evenly over the bottom half of the bread.
- Place the top half of the bread over the filling.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with a pinch of garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the top of the bread loaf.
- Wrap the entire loaf tightly in aluminum foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Carefully unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the top crust is slightly golden.
- Slice into thick pieces and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute the ground beef with cooked Italian sausage or shredded cooked chicken for variety.
- Use any combination of cheeses you prefer, such as Monterey Jack or Provolone.
- For extra flavor, mix 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning mix into the cheese filling.
