Description

This Garlic Herb Pull-Apart Bread is a shareable appetizer perfect for gatherings. It’s easy to make and bursting with delicious garlic and herb flavors, making it a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of pre-baked bread (like French bread or Italian bread)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the bread: Cut the loaf of bread into 1-inch cubes, cutting about three-quarters of the way through the loaf, so the cubes remain attached at the bottom.
  3. Make the garlic herb butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Spoon the butter mixture: Drizzle or spoon the garlic herb butter evenly over the bread cubes, making sure to get some butter into the cuts.
  5. Add cheese (optional): If using, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top of the bread.
  6. Wrap and bake: Tightly wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is heated through and the butter is melted and flavorful.
  8. Unwrap and serve: Carefully unwrap the foil. If you added cheese, you can bake for another 2-3 minutes uncovered to let the cheese melt and slightly brown. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • If you don’t have fresh herbs, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried parsley and 1/2 teaspoon of dried chives.
  • This bread is best served fresh from the oven.
