Description

A simple guide to making concentrated, daily wellness shots using fresh ginger, lemon, and turmeric for immune support.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 inches fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 2 large lemons, peeled
  • 2 inches fresh turmeric root, peeled
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup water (if using a blender)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the roots: Peel the ginger and turmeric roots. Peel the lemons completely, removing as much white pith as possible.
  2. If using a juicer: Feed the ginger, lemon, and turmeric pieces through the juicer chute. Collect the resulting liquid.
  3. If using a blender: Roughly chop the ginger, lemon, and turmeric. Place them in a high-speed blender with the water. Blend until completely smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, pressing firmly to extract all liquid. Discard the pulp.
  4. Combine: Pour the strained juice into a bowl. Stir in the black pepper and the optional sweetener until dissolved.
  5. Portion: Divide the mixture into small shot glasses or storage containers. This recipe yields about 4-6 shots depending on the size of your produce.
  6. Store: Cover the shots tightly and refrigerate immediately.

Notes

  • For better absorption of turmeric’s curcumin, always include black pepper.
  • If the taste is too strong, you can dilute one shot with a small amount of water or sparkling water before drinking.
  • Store the prepared shots in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
