Description

Elevate your appetizer game with these gourmet deviled eggs. This recipe provides a luxurious twist on a classic, perfect for special occasions or when you want to impress. You will find options for truffle oil, caviar, and flavored salts to create a truly memorable bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional gourmet additions:
    • 1/4 teaspoon truffle oil
    • 1 tablespoon fine quality caviar
    • Flavored salts (e.g., smoked paprika salt, black truffle salt) for garnish
    • Fresh chives, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan. Cover with cold water by about one inch.
  2. Bring water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Drain hot water and immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath for at least 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.
  4. Carefully peel the cooled eggs. Cut each egg in half lengthwise.
  5. Gently scoop out the egg yolks into a small bowl. Place the egg white halves on a serving platter.
  6. Mash the egg yolks with a fork until smooth.
  7. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks. Mix until creamy and well combined.
  8. If using, stir in truffle oil to the yolk mixture.
  9. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
  10. Garnish with caviar, flavored salts, and fresh chives as desired.
  11. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For easier peeling, use eggs that are a few days old, not super fresh.
  • Adjust the amount of mayonnaise to achieve your desired creaminess.
  • For piping, use a pastry bag with a star tip for a professional look.
  • Experiment with different flavored salts to find your favorite combination.
