Description
Simple grilled asparagus with Parmesan cheese and lemon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus spears with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Ensure the asparagus is evenly coated.
- Place the asparagus spears on the preheated grill. Grill for 4-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender-crisp and lightly charred. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the asparagus and the heat of your grill.
- Remove the grilled asparagus from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot asparagus. The heat will help the cheese melt slightly.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges for squeezing over the asparagus.
Notes
- Trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears by bending them; they will naturally snap at the right spot.
- For thinner asparagus, reduce the grilling time. For thicker spears, you may need to increase it slightly.
- You can use a grill basket for smaller or thinner asparagus to prevent them from falling through the grates.
