Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Italian sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 bell peppers (any color), cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Add the sausage pieces, bell pepper pieces, and red onion pieces to the bowl. Toss gently to coat everything evenly with the marinade.
- Thread the sausage and vegetables onto the skewers, alternating between sausage, bell peppers, and onions.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Place the skewers on the preheated grill.
- Grill for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the sausage is cooked through and the vegetables are tender-crisp and slightly charred.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and serve hot.
Notes
- You can use any type of Italian sausage you prefer, mild or spicy.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like zucchini, cherry tomatoes, or mushrooms to the skewers.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can cook these skewers under a broiler or in a grill pan on the stovetop.
