Description

Enjoy a refreshing glass of homemade peach iced tea. This simple recipe uses fresh peaches for a natural sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 8 cups water, divided
  • 6 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Add the sliced peaches and sugar to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the peaches are soft.
  4. Remove from heat and let the peach mixture steep for 30 minutes.
  5. Strain the peach mixture, pressing the peaches to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
  6. Bring the remaining 4 cups of water to a boil.
  7. Add the tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags.
  8. Combine the peach liquid and the brewed tea. Stir well.
  9. Let the tea cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  10. Serve over ice.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference.
  • For a stronger peach flavor, use more peaches.
  • You can use different types of tea, such as green tea or herbal tea.
  • Store leftover iced tea in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
