- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1-2 Serrano peppers, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 corn tortillas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the corn tortillas into wedges.
- Toss the tortilla wedges with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- While the chips bake, halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocado with a fork until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Add the chopped red onion, minced Serrano peppers, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to the mashed avocado.
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve the guacamole immediately with the baked tortilla chips.
Notes
- For a milder guacamole, remove all seeds and membranes from the Serrano peppers.
- You can add a diced tomato for extra flavor and color.
- Fresh cilantro adds a bright, herbaceous note.
