This homemade peach cobbler recipe uses fresh peaches and is easy to make, perfect for a comforting dessert.

- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the peaches. Pour this mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon dollops of the cobbler topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Let the cobbler cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom to the peach mixture.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- If fresh peaches are not in season, you can use frozen or canned peaches (drained). Adjust sugar if using canned peaches.
