- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste, depending on peach sweetness)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The batter will be thick.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Spoon the sugared peaches over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly and tender.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. It’s delicious warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sugar for the peaches based on their sweetness.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the peaches.
- If fresh peaches are not available, you can use frozen sliced peaches (thawed) or canned peaches (drained).
- The cobbler batter will rise and surround the peaches as it bakes.
