Description
Make your own refreshing sparkling raspberry soda at home with fresh raspberries and a touch of sweetness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh raspberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 1 cup water
- Sparkling water or club soda, chilled
- Ice
Instructions
- Combine raspberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until raspberries soften and release their juice.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids.
- Pour the raspberry syrup into a pitcher or airtight container. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice.
- Add 1/4 cup (or more, to taste) of the raspberry syrup to each glass.
- Top with chilled sparkling water or club soda.
- Stir gently and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your raspberries and your preference.
- The raspberry syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- You can use other berries like strawberries or blackberries to make different flavored sodas.
