Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil over the chicken skin.
- Place the chicken thighs skin-side up in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour half of the honey garlic marinade over the chicken. Reserve the other half for basting.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven. Brush the reserved marinade over the chicken.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden and sticky.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- You can substitute brown sugar for honey if you prefer a deeper molasses flavor.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice or a simple green salad.
