Ingredients
- Milk: 2 cups
- Chocolate Chips (Semi-sweet or Milk): 1/2 cup
- Irish Cream Liqueur (e.g., Baileys): 1/4 cup (adjust to taste)
- Sugar: 1 tablespoon (optional, adjust to taste)
- Vanilla Extract: 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions
- Pour the milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Warm the milk until small bubbles form around the edges, but do not let it boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the chocolate chips and sugar (if using). Let it sit for one minute to soften the chocolate.
- Whisk the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and the hot chocolate is smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Once slightly cooled, carefully stir in the Irish Cream Liqueur. Do not reheat after adding the liqueur.
- Pour the hot chocolate into your favorite mugs.
- Top generously with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings or cocoa powder. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
- You control the sweetness. Taste before adding extra sugar.
- For an alcohol-free version, substitute the Irish Cream Liqueur with 1/4 cup of extra milk mixed with 1 teaspoon of almond or vanilla extract.
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor outcome.
