Description

Use leftover cooked ham to make quick, savory, and sweet baked sliders using Hawaiian rolls and a simple Dijon butter topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12 count) package King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1 pound cooked ham, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese (or preferred cheese)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the entire package of rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls connected in one piece. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the sliced ham evenly over the bottom rolls. Top the ham with the slices of Swiss cheese.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and dried minced onion.
  6. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the top of the assembled sandwiches. Sprinkle the poppy seeds over the buttered tops.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before slicing between the rolls and serving immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute Swiss cheese with Provolone or Cheddar for a different flavor profile.
  • For extra flavor, add thinly sliced red onion between the ham and cheese layers.
  • If you do not have Hawaiian rolls, use any soft slider roll.
