Description

Make these Loaded Nacho Fries for an indulgent appetizer. Layer crispy fries with savory toppings for a satisfying treat your family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen french fries (about 20 oz)
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeño slices
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons salsa (for topping)
  • Optional: Guacamole, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Bake the french fries according to the package directions until golden brown and crispy.
  2. While fries bake, cook the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer until the liquid reduces, about 5 minutes.
  4. Spread the hot, cooked fries onto a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet.
  5. Spoon the seasoned meat evenly over the fries.
  6. Sprinkle both the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the meat and fries.
  7. Place the platter under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven. Top with sliced black olives and jalapeño slices.
  9. Serve immediately with dollops of sour cream and salsa. Add guacamole or cilantro if desired.

Notes

  • Use your favorite type of fries: crinkle cut or straight cut work well.
  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with black beans or seasoned lentils.
  • You can prepare the taco meat ahead of time to speed up assembly.
  • If you don’t have an oven-safe platter, you can melt the cheese in a microwave-safe dish and then assemble.
