Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into uniform pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the cut carrots in a bowl.
- Drizzle the carrots with olive oil, maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Toss well until all carrots are evenly coated.
- Spread the coated carrots in a single layer on a baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan for best caramelization.
- Roast for 20 to 25 minutes. Flip the carrots halfway through the cooking time.
- The carrots are done when they are tender when pierced with a fork and have caramelized edges. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a dash of nutmeg before roasting.
- Ensure your carrots are cut to roughly the same size so they cook evenly.
- To achieve deeper caramelization, use parchment paper on your baking sheet, but make sure the edges of the carrots still touch the hot metal surface.
