- 3-4 pounds chuck roast
- 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 5-6 pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced)
- 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
Instructions
- Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix and ranch seasoning mix evenly over the roast.
- Place the stick of butter on top of the roast.
- Add the pepperoncini peppers around the roast.
- Pour the pepperoncini juice over everything.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the roast is fork-tender.
- Once cooked, shred the roast with two forks directly in the slow cooker juices.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can sear the chuck roast in a hot pan with a little oil before adding it to the slow cooker.
- Adjust the amount of pepperoncini peppers to your taste; they add a mild tang and very little heat.
- This roast is delicious served over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or with crusty bread for dipping.
