Description
Make a comforting, spiced coffee drink at home with this easy Non-Alcoholic Dirty Chai Latte recipe. It brings the cozy flavor of a chai latte with an extra coffee kick, perfect for any time you need a little kitchen hug.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup brewed strong black tea (like Assam or English Breakfast)
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup strong brewed espresso or very strong coffee
- 2 tablespoons chai concentrate or 1 teaspoon chai spice mix
- 1 tablespoon sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or sugar)
- Pinch of ground cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- Brew your strong black tea and set it aside.
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk with the chai concentrate or spice mix and sweetener until warm. Do not boil.
- Whisk the milk mixture until slightly frothy.
- Pour the warm spiced milk mixture into your mug.
- Slowly pour the brewed espresso or strong coffee over the milk mixture. This creates the ‘dirty’ effect.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon on top for garnish.
- Enjoy your warm, spiced latte immediately.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of chai concentrate to match your spice preference.
- For an iced version, mix all ingredients cold and pour over ice.
- Use your favorite milk; oat milk often froths well for a creamy texture.
