Description
Make tender-crisp green beans roasted in the oven, coated with garlic and Parmesan cheese. This is an easy side dish recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Place the trimmed green beans in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, add minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the beans are evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary to promote roasting instead of steaming.
- Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the beans are tender-crisp and slightly browned at the edges.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot green beans. Toss gently to coat.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispy edges, roast the beans for the full 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder along with the minced garlic.
- You can substitute fresh lemon zest for a brighter flavor after roasting.
