Description

Make tender-crisp green beans roasted in the oven, coated with garlic and Parmesan cheese. This is an easy side dish recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the trimmed green beans in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, add minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the beans are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the seasoned green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary to promote roasting instead of steaming.
  4. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the beans are tender-crisp and slightly browned at the edges.
  5. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot green beans. Toss gently to coat.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy edges, roast the beans for the full 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder along with the minced garlic.
  • You can substitute fresh lemon zest for a brighter flavor after roasting.
