- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches.
- Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Pour the melted butter over the peaches.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another small bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special treat.
- If fresh peaches are not in season, you can use frozen or canned (drained) peaches. Adjust sugar slightly if using canned.
