- 6-8 ripe fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the sugared peaches evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are tender and bubbly.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe, in-season peaches.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
